 (PICS inside!!) MCO Autocross
I know we have a lot of members on this forum from the Ottawa-Montreal area and I'd just like to advertise the Motorsport Club of Ottawa Autocross event this Sunday. Everyone is welcome to come. I will be there, and it'd be really nice to not be the only one in a SaaB there..
I hope some more fellow Saab enthusiasts can come out and actually see how well our cars stack up against some other ones..

 Re: MCO Autocross this Sunday
So how is the autocross season working out for you? A couple of years ago I use to go out and watch, and was going to start signing up, but never got around to it. It would certainly be cheaper then my addiction to Calabogie.

 Re: MCO Autocross this Sunday
The season is starting tomorrow! I wish I could fuel an addiction to Calabogie, but track days are expensive, and I haven't done any real upgrades yet.

What time are you getting there at? Maybe I will load up the family into the wagon and come and watch for a bit.

 Re: MCO Autocross this Sunday
Sorry I didn't reply. Didn't check the forums until today. Anyway, I just got back from AutoX. Besides the fact that it feels like +40C here and my skin is baked, it was a great time. There was actually a black 1997 900S (N/A) with slicks and Bilstein/H&R suspension there that was doing amazing times. It was getting same times as a Skyline. Great driver. I also met the owner of an '02 Viggen with a Nordic stage 3 tune, although he only came to watch. Yeah, so I blew one of my shocks on my first run, which kind of threw me off for the rest of day since I was all over the place, but I didn't do that bad for the first AutoX event of the season. When the shock blew my tire kissed my wheel well and the wheel well took a nice strip off of my brand new less than a week old tires. Well, at least now I have a good excuse to get that KYB/Vogtland combo that I've been eying for a while. I guess I'll have to wait to get a downpipe & IC. Pics later.

 Re: MCO Autocross this Sunday
The '02 Viggen, that may have been Robert, was it steel grey, two door? That sucks about the shock. The '97 900, I wonder if that is the same one I gave my K&N filter to, he was just starting a 2-3 years ago and I gave him some stuff. sounds like you had fun, I should realy start taking part....when is the next event? mrzuzzo wrote: Sorry I didn't reply. Yeah, it was Rob with the Viggen. He also told me to come out to the Saab club meet. The next event is next week but it's near Montreal. The next ScotiaBank place event is at the end of the month, on a Sunday as usual.

Nice pics, your wheels, they look like Audi TT wheels, where did you get them and what kind are they?

 Re: MCO Autocross this Sunday
You blew a shock (rear) or a strut (front)? I have some used '99 9-3 OEM strut/shocks that are free for the taking if you want a cheap quick fix. Matthew mrzuzzo wrote: Sorry I didn't reply. Re: MCO Autocross this Sunday
wow, thanks for the offer! I blew my passenger rear shock. The KYB GR-2s should be a pretty good upgrade from the stock shocks while not being pricey so I think I will go with those. If I for some reason decide to keep it stock, I will PM you. Thanks once again! Oh, and the next AutoX in Ottawa is July 5th, it'd be nice to see more SAABs on the track. matthewb wrote: You blew a shock (rear) or a strut (front)? I am interested in attending the next event if I am in town that weekend. Send out a reminder to the club the week before in case it slips my mind. I hope to be running the Sport Combi with a stage 2 tune with the 3" downpipe and K&N filter, so I am curious to see how it will do on an autoross course.
